Week 2

The aspects of the week which I found most valuable was when I was able to teach. Also, I had the opportunity during the In Service Day on Monday, to work with my coop and other teachers on curriculum for the school district. This was an eye opener!

What I would have changed, was when I went to teach my first class on Tuesday, which is first period, I had just started when my coop informed me that the students were going to be leaving in five minutes for a field trip to the Vo-Tech School. She had forgotten about. I had to delay what I was going to teach and move all my lesson plans. This is life!

  1. Unexpected things happen everyday that we need to learn to deal with. It gets frustrating at first but I am happy to hear that you were able to just delay what you were going to teach and move your lesson plans on. I also felt that teaching this week was very valuable and we will keep learning from the good and bad.

  2. I agree with you that it was most beneficial finally being able to teach. You can only take classes, observe, write papers etc for so long before you just have to get out there and teach! It felt good being in front of the classroom knowing I was fully prepared from the past two years of school

  3. Working on curriculum as a teacher is huge! With the accountability issues in today's education sector, we need to develop and design the best curricula for our students. Administration, school boards, and parents expect nothing less! It is fabulous that you got this experience in your Professional Semester! Great!
