Aspects of the first week that were most valuable was getting to know the teaching style of my coop and getting to know the students. Also, meeting the faculty and administation who have all been very helpful and made me feel very welcome. I also was able to meet the other student teachers.
If I was able to start the week over, being called down to the principal's office on the second day and trying to figure out what the other student teacher in bus. ed. and I had done and remembering what the prof. had said the night before was alittle puzzling to say the least. When we arrived at the office we found out that the principal just wanted to introduce himself and meet with all the student teachers.

ok this is the second time I am commenting, it didnt work the first time...
ReplyDeletei agree with you that it was nice meeting the faculty and administrators... everyone projected enthusiasm towards having me in their school.
that must have been a bad feeling walking to the principles office the second day! while the whole time thinking "oh man what could I have done already"
Sometimes we, as faculty, make the wrong assumption when it comes to administration's intentions. Staying positive and always smiling helps tremendously in living everyday in a school district.
ReplyDeleteAlways remember and appreciate all the responsibilities, tasks, knowledge, and information administrators need to work with in their positions. I think this alone can create an attitude of appreciation by faculty for our administrators in all school districts.
